City Center inks Sorrelli jewelry store for downtown Allentown
Date: Jan 08, 2015
At least three downtown Allentown jewelry stores closed or left in the last decade, now a new one is coming to the city.
Kutztown-based fashion jewelry-maker Sorrelli, which operates two stand-alone stores and displays its jewelry at dozens of spas, specialty stores and 400 other independent retailers throughout the U.S., announced it will open a third location at Two City Center in downtown Allentown. Sorrelli, which designs handcrafted jewelry from genuine Swarovski crystals and semiprecious stones, will occupy approximately 1,600 square feet on the first floor of the 11-story office and retail building at 645 Hamilton St.
It will join Hamilton Kitchen bar and eatery and Minuteman Press, City-Center's first non-restaurant retail tenant, which was announced last year, at Two City Center. The family-owned company was founded in 1983 by co-owner Lisa Oswald.
"We can't wait to introduce the Sorrelli brand and cultivate new collectors in Allentown. It's a major untapped market for us," Oswald said. "Sorrelli is all about heritage, and there's a lot of that in downtown Allentown, so seeing it come back to life pulled at our heartstrings."
